Sounds like something car and driver would do. Actually, I think they might have done it.

Even though the Ridgeline had the lowest payload and towing capacity...it won because it got good gas mileage and was quiet and comfortable inside.


Anyone read Car and Driver'* "Cheap Speed" article? Out of the SRT4, Cobalt SS, Ion Redline, the WRX, and the Acura RSX Type-*...which do you think won?

Lets see, the SRT4 had the most HP and torque, best weight to power ratio, quickest acceleration times (in the 0-60, 0-100, AND the 0-120, fastest quarter mile time, fastest 5-60 time, fastest 50-90 time, fastest top speed, shortest braking distance, and the fastest autocross time.

Acura Type-* won...why? Did the best on the skid pad...and....it was the lightest and lowest to the ground...has a big trunk...wtf

It is the most expensive, slowest 0-60 time, slowest quarter mile time, and slowest autocross lap...

Way to go C&D...

I hate to be the guy to say it, but have you driven either one of these vehicles against another car/truck of its type? Until you've done that can you really denounce the decision?
I don't really like the decision either, but I can't complain cause I haven't driven either of these.

I don't have the article myself....and I don't think it was even in the article but a letter to them that they printed. They talked about how if you go to downtown detroit how many pickups do you see...a lot. How many of them tow 4 tons on a weekly basis...probably none.

IMHO its their own friggen fault. They bought a truck, they should expect a rough ride, crappy MPG, and a rugged cabin as well.

If you want a car/truck get an escalade...not enough $$$, get an Avalanche...

C&D lost their credibility with me a long time ago. I dont read any of their **** anymore. Just take their talk with a grain of salt and let the mob have their fun. If you do the research for yourself you know which is really the best car and truck out there. I dont need a shoddy magazine written by journalism school drop outs tell me which car or truck is the best when they are probably getting "favors" for the kinds of articles they write.
