Car shopping time again.
Well, the girl'* minivan is finally on it'* last legs (really this time!) So we are starting to shop around for a different car. Now I know bonnie'* are the best, but I want something different for a second car. Right now the options are:
Alero
Monte Carlo
Accord
ZX2
Grand Am GT (3.8 ram air if possible)
Grand Prix (I know, same thing as a bonnie pretty much!)
Looking to spend around 10 g'*. Any opinions are suggestions? Want something that looks nice but won't hit the wallet too hard when insurance time roles around.

If its a newer Monte Carlo'* those are nice....the Grand Prix'* are nice cars too..I would stay away from Grand Am'* tho..not only is there like .4 inches of head room in them they are crap...I'm 5'4 and my head was honestly like 2inches from the sunroof in an 02 I looked at.....I'd stick with those 2...just my thoughts tho

I'm not sure if I have any really great insight but, since I was searching for a Grand Prix, Grand Am or an Alero (along with a Saturn-so maybe I wasn't completely sane ) here'* what I found. I, of course, am biased toward the Grand Ams right now. Although, like mentioned before, they are a smaller car. I also can't speak to the 3.4 but the I4 has a lot of get up and go, so I'd imagine the V6 would be fun too. As it is, I am SO happy with the GA I got, couldn't ask for anything better-but that'* just what worked for me. I looked at some Aleros in the process of car shopping and I liked them too. If you don't want a 4 banger, then watch the lower priced Aleros, they usually have the smaller engine-that was always the first question I asked. The only think I know about Grand Prix is that as far as options go, they can be very basic in that price range-but you might get lucky that way.

If you are looking for some serious performance, go with the Grand Prix GTP. They are quite plentiful, and you can find one for under 10k. A GT is very nice too, and will cost less. My insurance going from a 95 SSE to a 97 GTP (4 door) is only a hundred bucks more per year.
GA'* are very nice. I've driven many of them.
I recommend a GA or GP.
