In the 80'*, I don't think Mazda was where it was at when it came to Japanese cars... possible the RX-7, but meh :P

You know, save the 3800 equipped vehicles and some of the trucks, GM'* current products are really quite sub par. Up until now, Cavaliers/Sunfires were stuck with a truly shitty powerplant... how can a guy blow a headgasket three times in 120,000 miles - with the first blow being at 24,000?

These "ricers", unfortunately, can smoke our cars any day of the week :(
My defintion of rice would be something that'* faster than it looks... and well, the WRX and Evo are fast

Right now, I personally think that there'* nothing wrong with C/D. In case you haven't noticed, they've awarded comparison test wins to non-BMW candidates too. Bias? :?

But if you want to see following trends... pick up your import tuner magazine... holy **** The WRX STi and Evo are two recently released cars... that are fast... that are cheap... so why wouldn't they get attention? I don't think GM has come out with anything cover-worthy in the past few months

They're Car and Driver, if there are cars worthy of attention, they're write about them. Simple.

- All this coming from a guy who likes and prefer two totally different big luxury sedans... mmm, Bonneville.... mmm, Cressida...

But, nonetheless, I think that C/D is the best out there. Just my opinion, no need to get worked up about it :P

These magazines brainwash. I know a kid who has an eclipse with silver flames on the side. He used to have a 2.8v6 camaro (thought he could beat me with it but thats besides the point.)

We'll my other friend with a 74 Camaro informed him of a 80 Trans Am with a 400cid w/4speed w/posi for $1000 bucks. The kid with th eclipse was like, well that does sound fast but I can't read any reviews on it compared to newer cars. I just about smacked the kid. If he won't pick it up maybe i will, fix the 2 spots of body work and resell it for more.

But those idiot people buy the magazines. I just like to read this one import magazine at barnes and noble that has tons of naked ladies in it.

You know, C/D is not really oriented to the import tuner crowd. Import cars from both Europe and Japan, yes, but not tuners with their ridiculous fart cans and bookshelf wings. Actually, C/D'* editors don't like that kind of stuff. They're into performance cars and enthusiast stuff.

I like Motoring as well, but they don't give the numbers like you'd get in a C/D article. Gotta love Jim Kenzie

Pretty much the only downside to Motoring is that they don't always give acceleration and braking numbers - and when they to, it'* acceleration to 80km/h and braking from 80k. Can't compare with other stuff that way :(

It'* funny that all these pathetic mags continue to brag about 4 bangers, while the ONLY REAL automotive magazine, Motor Trend, has a feature on American V8'*.

BTW... in this months issue... the rumors have been quelled. The GXP will NOT be getting a destroked Northstar..it'* getting the real thing - 4.6 litres of 300HP just waiting for me to drive home!

Speak for yourself.

Yes, so was I. If rice were something faster that it looked, then hell, I guess I have a few ricers at my house. A ricer, is something that has big spoilers, ground effects, big wheels w/low profile tires, fart can, neon lights, and things like that. It really doesn't have anything to do with how fast they are, but usually they aren't much faster than 16'* in the 1/4.

The GXP will NOT be getting a destroked Northstar..it'* getting the real thing - 4.6 litres of 300HP just waiting for me to drive home!
Damn. That actually suprises me, GM doesn't usually do that. Usually they say it is going to come out with 300 horsepower and drop it down to 260 before it comes out, they don't usually go up in power.
