Check your vin #. The first digit represents the country of manufacturer.
1=USA
2=Canada
3=Mexico (?)
4=Japan
AU= Germany (?)
Etc. I am not sure what code is used for Korea, Australia, and others. Maybe someone can help. I know that a lot of "domestic" or "American" cars are actually built in Canada or Mexico and a lot of "Japanese" cars are built in the USA.
Some body please verify Mexico and Germany. It has been a while since I looked at any other vin.

The FIRST digit in the VIN represents Country of Origin!
1,4 = US Built
2 = CDN Built
3 = Mexico Built
W = German Built
J = Japan Built
B = Brazil Built
K = Korean Built
