Canadian Tire Tools Policy.

Has anyone for Ontario ever returned defective Canadian Tire Mastercraft toold for exchange? If so, what was the procedure. I know that they have a lifetime manufactures warranty, but I've never used it.

Thanks

Me thinks this should have been posted in The Lounge!

Would someone please place this thread when it will be better suited. Thanks

No problem as long as you have the receipt. Its always a good idea to keep reciepts in a drawer of your tool box.
They still may exchange as long as it is true mastercraft.

I return tools all the time without a receipt. Everytime I snap a ratchet or bend a wrench I take it back and they tell me to go grab another one off the shelf, no questions asked.

First off I don't have the reciept since it says Mastercraft right on the tool and only CTC sells Mastercraft

Now Jarvisx2000 when you're talking about returning tools without a reciept, are you referring to Candian T At present, I have a 2 ratchets and 1 adjustable pliers to exchange.

Go in crying, sobbing, carrying two boxes of tissue, accidentally drop your consumer lawyer's card on the returns desk, flash your piece tucked in your belt, and ask politely for a replacement...........should be no problem Frank! ;)

This comes from a guy in retail who does warranty replacements all the time!

So are you all saying that you've done it before without hassles????? That's what I want to know;.

My best guess:

Don't just leave without any papers. Noooooooo, bad idea.

    brianj 03-08-2007 05:37 PM

Yes.....I returned a set of Mastercraft vise grips from a 30 piece set and they gave me a new one OTC (over-the-counter) no problem just last summer!

Thanks guys, I'll do that next week. Now my other problem is organising all these tools. I'm so frustrated that when I need a tool I can't find it or the tool drawer won't open because it's to full, jammed, or the sliders are stiff. No there not the ball bearing type. They are Beach Tool Boxes that are about 20 years old, still in good shape but the drawers just don't slide as well as I'd like even with grease.

I wish I could finf all my tools when I nned them.........my son usually uses them but never seems to be able to put them back where they belong! Does CDN Tire sell homing devices for tools Frank?

Well I happen to be driving by CTC today with one of the ratchets in the car. I went to the info, returns centre and pleaded my defence, they asked if I had a receipt and I replied no but it clearly says Mastercraft on it. The nice lady asked if I had the rest of the parts and my reply was..............nope. She asked for photo id and phone # which I provided and then made a phone call only to tell me someone was coming to repair it. In the mean time I toured the facility and when I returned I was told they decided to get me a new one..........Yippy. That's the first damaged tool I've ever returned. Now when I find the others ones, I'll make another trip...........thanks for the info everyone.
