That song by Gordon Lightfoot was a tribute to the 29 sailors that died when the Edmund Fitzgerald sank to the bottom of Lake Superior on November 10, 1975.

You don't find much funny do you, then again I have yet to find anyone from Québec that has a sense of humor, especially since you don't like Molson, LMFAO., BTW I worked in Hull for a year and now the company I work for is based out of Montréal, so I know first hand, lol.
The Edmund Fitzgerald was a great tragedy along with many other accidents on the water. I have seen a few shows on the story of the Edmund, very interesting.
