Default Can Mosquitoes Get Drunk.

One of my friends got a job at a liqour store here in Lakeville. Me not having a drink in a whole WEEK. I decided to stop by and get a party pack. Thats 1.75L of Ras Vodka and 1.75 L of Lemon Ade. I sit on my porch and the mosquitoes are out. After 1/2 of the bottle the mosquitoes that dare suck my blood would fall to the groud after leaving. Do they feel the affects too?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they probably can. Alcohol is an organic chemical, it seems it might cause issues with bugs too. Dunno though...

They prolly fell to the ground because they were over stuffed on your blood cause you couldn't feel it.

Yes, I've heard they defintally can. Alcohol goes into your blood, correct? When the mosquito ingests your blood, being the small creature it is, your blood containing alcohol, dependoing on percentage, the mosquito can get "drunk".

Hmm, if you were drinking, are you sure there were mosquitos?

Anyway, I remember reading how some scientist said that alcohol affects honey bees the same as it does for humans so I'm sure its the same for most bugs despite the differences in the brain. I'm just not sure if the alcohol wouldn't be too deluted to get the mosquito drunk but it would end up having some alcohol in its body. It would atleast increase the amount of calories in the blood by some. Maybe I should've been a premed major after all...

We are lucky here on the coast...........there are no mosquitoes.....except if you drive far into the forest :P
Can sit out at night and don't need bug spray. No one even has screens on the windows

We do have Cougars and Grizzlies who have been known to drag off a few unattended younguns...so you don't want to pass out near the woods.
