Default camera and camcorder geek help

Long story short I got my t1i stolen a couple years back and I am now back in the market for a good dslr. I am looking hard at a t2i over the t3i since from what I have read it is about a wash except for the swivel screen on the t3i and a couple mp.

On a second note I am looking at a Hard drive based camcorder for home videos and as a second pov in the car when racing. I am very interested in the sony handicam with the 160 gb HD

lastly for those of you with the go pro hero 3 tell me your opinion and experience with it. I am looking at it pretty hard also

IMO, stay away from cameras with built in HDD'*. If you drop them, oops. There goes a couple hours of video. With flash cards, no worries. I have the Sony HDR CX220 I got from Bestbuy. Full HD with 8MP still photo and Carl Zeiss lens. So what if you have to swap memory cards once in awhile. Its a small price to pay vs magnetic data.
