What was wrong with it? Mine was so smooth and nice. Couldn't feel a single bump.

sseidriver97 08-21-2010 07:24 PM

Well, that. Plus, it was very squeaky and rattely, plus the seats were uncomfortable, and I guess I'm biased when it comes to trucks, I'm more of a Ford person.

raptor660 08-22-2010 12:08 PM

Whats so Rare about it?

That thing was very capable for a 2WD I'll tell ya what. Before I had it painted I took it offroad a few times and was unable to get stuck. Also, I bet that AV was fairly used. This one is not. It had no squeaks, rattles, jumps, bumps or anything. It was awesomely comfortable inside too. Took it on many road trips.

I'm guessing they are talking about the paintjob, since I had it painted that way.

Wish I hadn't sold it, but it was an expensive beast. $400 a month + $200 a month for gas. I really only save on the car payment with the Bonne now, gas is about the same.

StealthGXP 08-22-2010 01:29 PM

I really like the 2 tone....

Just cant justify the expenditure lol

Going to need a Suburban soon tho haha

wakefieldl 08-22-2010 05:45 PM

seriously if the gas is the same theres something wrong with your bonnie

secondly..bring me any truck you want..and i betcha i could get that thing stuck ;)

MouSe 08-22-2010 07:17 PM

Premium 93 octane is $2.87 a gallon. That's $40 a tank. Tank lasts me a week, so $80 every two weeks.

Regular is $2.67 a gallon. That's $80 a tank for the Av. Tank lasted two weeks.

Gas is the same.

SAMzGXP 08-22-2010 07:26 PM

i had an avalanche when it first came out back in 2006 it was such a beautiful truck, very smooth kept it for 3 years
but i hated how frickin slow it was.. it took forever to take off or even pass someone on the highway, the escalade i have now is so much faster :D

MouSe 08-22-2010 07:32 PM

Av's came out in 2002 buddy. :w3

Escalade has a 6.0, that's why it's "faster". I never had a problem with gitty-up on my Av though, moved just fine.

SpinEm_90 08-22-2010 11:00 PM

Mann! That brings back memories lol I use to see it at the dealership where you traded the monte everytime I went through Car City to get to work

MouSe 08-22-2010 11:41 PM

You know whats awesome? They gave me more for trade in than what I paid for it!

nope, escalade got the 6.2
and nope!!! mine came out 2006 ;)

Attachment 22543

i dunno i found that it was very slow when taking off and top end also wasn't that great either, passing people on the highway too forever.
but over all it was an amazing truck, i just wish they had the same engine as the Escalade or at least the 390hp Trail Blazer SS engine, i would have kept it for another 2 years at least

MouSe 08-23-2010 01:42 AM

Your AV was a model year 2007, that's when they switched to the GMT 900 platform. Sub's and Tahoe's were GMT 900 in 06. Also in 07 or 08 6.0 was an engine option. Not the LS series, the Vortec.

I loved my truck though, not often do you get a 6500+ pound truck that can get 22 mpg on the highway.

very good point..i doubt ill ever break 20 with mine

lowest ive seen with my truck was 13 highest was 18..then again thats on the original pump and filter, not to mention i was running 87 when technically im supposed to be running 89+

oops lol

SAMzGXP 08-23-2010 03:40 AM

6.0 was an option on the avalanche? really?

StealthGXP 08-23-2010 05:57 AM

Just remember it's not a truck lol

hahahaha true
but im very impressed with the power in the escalade, it pullls really hard
i wouldnt be surprised if it beats bonne in a straight line

GunsOfNavarone 08-23-2010 01:31 PM

Be glad you sold the Avalanche, that is one ugly paint job...

MouSe 08-23-2010 03:50 PM

Pssh, that paint job was awesome. I had that done to it, loved it.

Also, yes the 6.0 was an option in 08 and 09 I believe. They dropped it for the FFV 5.3 only starting on the 2010 models though. What a shame.

GunsOfNavarone 08-23-2010 04:33 PM

Mouse,

That paint job is reflective of the GM optional paint job offered on Blazers, Jimmys and Bravadas in the 1990s. They dropped it as an option and no longer offered it. It was an ugly GM fad. Its 2010!!

MouSe 08-23-2010 04:36 PM

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that's why Southern Comfort and Regency both did custom two-tones to the Av's they produced and people paid GOBS for them. Two tone is popular again.

Maybe that is why the resale values on custom/ conversion vehicles are horrific and why GM just bought a sub-prime auto lender for 3 billion. Typical buyer of most GM SUVs can't qualify for a conventional auto loan. And that becomes a bad cycle as the SUV get repoed and then take down the resale value of their entire SUV fleet.

GXP Venom 08-24-2010 06:39 PM

This thread is getting way out of hand and was moved till I had time to evaluate and amend.

Guns, you are old enough as a Man and a Member here to know we encourage positive posting and respect other's style choices. You gave your opinion of the paint scheme, and that was sufficient.

Mouse, Everyone has an opinion about colors/schemes/mods. Whats important is that it fits your tastes.

Neither of you are the "God of Style Choices" Letz remember Forums are about discussing different opinions please, and without things turning into flaming. Neither of your opinions mean nuch to anyone but yourselves. And not worth causing hard feelings and Forum Drama. I assume this part of the discussion is finished and I don't have to come back into it.
