So my friend and I are talking about our cars, his being an '91 BMW E30 or "The most bad@$$ car ever made for under $3000......used"

The conversation really gets going after I told him that I had considered a Series II L67, but then discovered a bunch more electrical work than i expected...

Him: so.. its a good thing you didnt get it

Him: you know what you should do....

Yes he did.... and I countered with inexpensive parts... BWAHAHAHAHAHA.... sorry.... And yes a few things are more expensive but in general it isn't bad because it had been made for 8 years and still has new parts being made (every European and their grandmother own these things... kinda). Granted I'm going by my very biased point of view which leads me to never buy an American car unless it is a classic.... or very reliable and sexy.

Aren't you on your third engine??? I'm on my first with no rebuilds at 230k miles.

EDIT: Although I have to admit you have a good community that has been helping you out. +1 to you BonnevilleClub... I still believe my car is more reliable and overall cheaper.

he'* in the minority... these engines consistently last over 200K. i'm sure you could find BMWs with bad motors too

There is a member here who does NOT drive his car lightly, and it'* a 1997 SSEi Supercharged 300+ K miles, and he does some raunchy burnouts at the strip.
