We have some members from New York, so thought to ask does anyone have any knowledge of the Brockport, NY area? Work sent a e-mail about a possible move there.
about 20 minutes from me, what sort of info are you after? pretty much a growing but still small shopping type area. mostly based on the college. certainly snows a bit more than AZ, you better bring a couple cars from down there up with you, you could make some money selling them
Oh, that'* just west of Rochester. Which is another snowbelt region like the Pulaski area between Syracuse and Fort Drum. Very open farmlands up that way. I use to deliver to that area(Batavia) all the time. Do you like snow? That'* only 2 some odd hours from me also.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like a real nice area, as long as one like snow. Not sure how my Wife would like the snow. I would be working for the Army at the college.

Army PCSd me with 17 days notice in November, but the assignment is for a max of two years. They have a opening in the summer of 2014 at Brockport, but requires a commitment from me this summer.
Everything I have seen looks real good. Arizona has not been so good. My Wife has been unable to get professionally licensed in AZ- so we are living apart, causing havoc in our relationship. The crime rate is super high in AZ. They steal bikes from SR Citizens- which is just not acceptable to me under any circumstance.

Well, at least you will have the lovely NY weather, its really nice up here around spring, and fall, but summer can get really hot and humid. And being really close to the lake is a +++++. And if your into fishing, whooaa boy. Especially salmon fishing???!?! Sodus point is practically right around the corner from you and its a hot spot for salmon. Real easy to catch too. Being smack dab in the middle of NY like Brockport opens up so many travel possibilities. Buffalo to your left, Rochester/Syrause to your right, Hellmira to the south and don't forget the Finger Lakes and wineries!!!! I could go on all day long.
