Hmmmm.....reading. As long as it reads codes as well as my Actron. Although I would have liked it to work on OBD2 as well, considering the growing west coast population.

you could take the hdd out and use it in a desktop and go from there.

just get an adapter like that.

No. I'm not really sure how to do that. I haven't had much luck with it. The video will not come up on a separate monitor during boot up. I have to wait a bit and hit the display function key just to know it'* working. From there, I can sit and stare at the NT logon screen for hours at a time. It'* better than watching paint dry.

I'm gonna ask a few dumb questions...
The laptop doesn't have a VGA output does it? Could always use that..
Are there docking stations that might have VGA? May be cheap on Ebay, etc.

Whooo Hoooo! I was able to at least get into the setup by holding the insert key. I could barely read the screen. It'* there, just no backlighting. I managed to McGuyver a flashlight using various parts from 3 of the cheapest sons of biotches I've ever seen. The display output was set to LCD so I changed it to simultaneous. NOW I can really see what'* going on.
I have about 13 beers left from a 30 pack. So what'* next?
