Brake time (56k maybe not)
The Jetta is due for a brake job up front.
We all need some help when we work.
What have we here?
It goes with these.
Big and round.
The new are more than 4lbs lighter, better casting quality and, better material.
After torquing a 12 bolt cross pattern. 12lbs 6.58oz
Something to grab it.
Ferodo DS2500 fast road pads.
The old. 16lbs 8.42oz
Installed.

It'* a performance thing.
Rotors come in one piece, (most street cars) or 2 pieces (exotics, race, performance after market). I am sure there are exceptions but not many.
Two-piece are generally bolted (like mine) or floating. Floating rotors have the mounting holes in the rotor or hat elongated and use special hardware to allow them to expand independently as they get hot.
