This will probably sound weird to the US members on the board, but I went 10-pin bowling for the first time last night. In Canada (especially my part of Canada) 10-pin bowling is almost non-existant. We have two 10-pin lanes and over thirty 5-pin in the city.
None the less, it was awesome. After having bowled for 8 years in a 5-pin league, and after going to provincials and nationals as a junior it was quite the change for me. The skills weren't a direct carry over, but I managed to bowl 130-150' * consistantly.
If you were wondering, 5 pin bowling is just 5 pins in a V shape. Their vaules are 2 3 5 3 2. You get 3 balls per frame, a perfect game is 450 and the balls are WAY smaller. That about sums it up.
What a stupid post.

not stupid at all captain! rather, quite fascinating! i had no idea! i've learned something today! so, are the balls lighter? i usually bowl with a 16 pounder...when you bowl 5 pin, i assume the balls are lighter in addition to being smaller? cool.
tell me more!
