Its weird, you look at the damage and it seems minor but the car only has so much book and then it is junk. Damn, what a shame. Biggest insult, it was a friggn Beemer that hit him and my guess it will get repaired.

Long and short of it, there will be more to this story I am sure.

Some people can actually make out good on accidents. When a car is totaled, you can usually buy it back for extremely cheap and fix it up. It can turn out nice when the accident wasn't your fault, as the insurance money is often more than it actually takes to repair the car (depending on who you know).

If you can do your own work, I say fix it.

I've had an instance or two where the car was totaled and I got to keep it.Granted that was about twenty years ago .
