I got 50 bucks off the $189 dollar retail price with Verizon'* "Whoops Plan". ANd I still qualify for the "New every 2" in december... 100 bucks off of any phone.

As in "new every 2 years"? If that'* the case and your contract is up then, I would just cancel my service and sign right back up on a new plan. You'll probably get a better minute package, and a new phone for almost nothing (if anything at all). Then you could sell the one you just bought... I'm sure it will still be worth something in December!

we have insurance on our phones so my sons only cost him $50 which is good! This is the second time he has had a mishap with his phone.

Update- 4 days later, and just out of morbid curiosity, I tried turning the old phone on. The friggin thing WORKS!!!!

At least I can retrieve the numbers I had thought lost, but dammit, I really couldn't afford that new phone.....

Oh, well. Story of my life....
