I am on a cheap budget......... Dont know many ideas but my friend and I rig up many many ideas........ I have a 1995 ford contour right now the only rigged up thing now for performance wise is the exaust I used a awsome muffler+wd-40 can+1 feet of flex pipe+5 clamps fixed my friends exaust leak with 2 1 foor sections of flex pipe+4 clamps better than b4 but not perfect...........I wana rig up ways to get more hp with my 1995 ford contour..........today my friend and me got a idea thats cheap........use exaust flex pipe run from the intake hose and rig up some kind of air gathering mechanism under the bumper like how a vaccum hose works at the end where it can cover more surface area cheap mod to add hps and use like some kind of rigged up filter in the line somewhere..........my friend on his 1995 dodge avenger we ran flex pipe into some hole we found twords the side of the engine and that really seamed to have more pull at higher rpms expecially after we power washed his entire engine........grounded out a few plugs for like 1-2 mins lol till we dried er out pretty much looking for cheap ways to gain a few hps..........limited money supply

do you have an intake/free flowing muffler on it? Check ebay for the cheap stuff.

not to sound like a jerk, but, there are contour forums out there that could give you better answers to your questions. We're not familiar (atleast most of us) with that type of car..

Make sure that hose is positioned properly. Otherwise the air is just going to swirl around near the entrance and not do anything.

Is it a good idea to clean spark plugs? I never have just bought new ones, but since he is on a budget....

I used to work with a guy who decided to maguyver his exhaust and it ended up leaking up into the car and he fell asleep and hit a barrier and ended up in the hospital. I'm not sure if using a wd-40 can in your exhaust system is the safest idea, be careful.
