I was also a Dragnet and Car 54 fan. I saw Dragnet in the 1st run. Car 54 was probably in reruns.

I have two:

a. For those that can remember, back in the early 80s' there was a police drama Friday nights on ABC called Strike Force starring Robert Stack (the old guy up in the ATC yelling instructions in the movie Airplane). The show was AWESOME!!!! LOTS of gunplay (cool for us 9-10 year old boys at the time : ) Alas, ABC thought the show was too violent (go figure) and after the second season cacelled the show.

b. The Shield. Vic Makey could whip anyone else'* *** of any other cop show PERIOD. (well,except maybe Capt. Murphy from SF).

Again I like The Shield,but not realistic

oh, and the original CSI (LVPD). I can't stand the Miami or New York series.
