Not sure when the bedtime limit was lifted for me, but I can remember being put to bed in the early 60'* @ 8 just before the "Cool Shows" with violence came on. Rat Patrol, Combat, The Rifleman, Branded, The Lone Ranger, Have Gun- Will Travel. I would always give it about 10-20 minutes and sneak to the edge of the hallway, sit and watch TV peering between the couch and easy chair. Always ready to make a mad quiet dash when Dad invariably got up for snacks or Moms to the bathroom.

Same kind of Dad. And I got my licks when caught. Similar Mom, she would often find me fallen asleep against the hallway wall and give me a nudge, look out towards Dad'* chair and motion me to my bed with a stern look. But never told on me.

Yes sir sounds about exactly right...When mom had to give me the ole what for she used an object I.E. wooden spoon/belt...Dad on the other hand just his bare hand and hurt worse than moms ''equalizer'*'' of sort I think the last time dad had to do such was around age 11 around that time i learned to think before speaking and to control my tone and my wording..AKA i started saying Yes Sir and No sir short simple and respectful answers lol

My Mom had a horrible time with me after trying all sorts of equalizers. She finally found success with Metal Pancake Turner. Can you imagine what the Social Dept'* of taday would say to that. ROFL. But I had every one coming to me and they did straighten me out when needed.
