Bad news: When it rains, it pours.
I got laid off my job yesterday after eight years with Adobe Systems. My entire team in the USA got cut, and our future development for my product is going entirely to India.
On the way home I stopped for gas. Upon leaving, car stalled when I put it into drive. Tried again, repeat. Started again, rev'd it a bit, saw steam cloud in the exhaust. Engine running hot. Checked coolant bottle: empty.
Yep, upper and lower intake gaskets at 83,000 miles. And I already had it done around 4 years ago, too!
Oh yeah, and it rained all day.

oh, wow, im sorry to hear about your rough day. just think of this as an opportunity that you will have plenty of time to reaquaint yourself with the top end of your engine while replacing the gaskets
Dont feel bad dude. I'd finally gotten payed and was going to go out of town to spend some time with my bofriend a couple months ago, and the upper intake blew on my car, cost me $640 to fix it myself with all that I'd replaced. About three weeks later I quit my job, and then we lost our house and everything in it a week later, and all we have left is the car, our clothes, and some paperwork. When it rains it pours. But hey look on the bright side things will get better. I got my Bonnie fixed again, have another job, we're getting a place again soon and starting over. I was once told by someone that we all pay our dues to bad times in our lives but if we have faith and believe in god things will get better. Praying helped me alot.
