Default AVI files?

I have a few .AVI movies that i have downloaded and i cant play them....when i try to play them the "configure photo gallery" pops up....WTF? I downloaded them off Ares if that helps

you probably need the dvix or xvid codes. go to www.dvdrhelp.com

what are you playing them thru?

there are a lot of crap files out there that all they do is direct you to a site or something

i tried to play them thru Ares and got the window, and then when i did it on WMP all i got was audio

Try BSplayer, but find a older vr. of it because the new one off there site comes with Spyware

I used an older vr od BSplayer and it plays every thing

media player classic will also play just about anything.

WMP will play it as an Audio file but then at the botton it says "Error Downloading Codec"

WMP really doesn't care about the dot3 extension, if it can play it - it will.
Download DIVX and see if it will play then.

DivX sill not play the files....

I am trying to convert the files thru DivX

Well you can download gspot to find out which codec they are using and then google and download the codec.
