Default ATTN - Shipping my SC, need help.

Ok, in a few weeks here, I am shipping my SC off to Dr.Boosty so he can rebuild it for me. Question is, how can I safely ship it, and what is it gonna cost me? I am not looking to spend a shitload of $$ to ship it, but want it shipped safely. Anyone care to share how they ship theirs? My dad can get very thick cardboard boxes from his machine shop, but not sure about that, as I don't know how thick they are. :?

Best package I have seen was the one that Canadian Superchargers sent mine in. Big wooden box inside the cardboard box, with the unit bolted securely to the wood. Just make sure to put something between the wood and the gasketed surface.

I've shipped two.

I got a box large enough with about 2-3" of extra space on the sides

I then crumpled up news paper inside the bottom for 2/3rds of that.

Then I wrapped the whole thing in Bubble wrap a couple times.

Set it in

Filled in the remaining space with more news paper (free car ads or penny savers work nice)

Closed and shipped.

Worked for me.

I shipped one to Matt in Canada..

Got a good solid cardboard box (looked a lot like the one Ed Morad shipped my Gen V in) and put a couple extra layers of cardboard around the charger to keep it firmly in place. Basically pack it like it'* yours and you don't want damage. The more solid the packing is...the less it can be hurt. Give it some extra cardboard at the nose end etc and things like that..you'll be good.

I think normal cost is about $30 for shipping.
