I would love to have a black SS. This middle-eastern guy who owns the local liquor store drives one.

Hey, has anyone driven a car powered by the 3.9L V6, just curious because it makes 240 hp same as a L67
I've driven a G6 GTP w/ the 3.9L.
And??????
Um...it would take a stock SSEi in the 1/4 IMO (going from butt-dyno, so take it with a grain of salt). But keep in mind thats in a lighter vehicle with better weight distribution and a 6 spd. The L67-car might take it off the line b/c of the low-end grunt, but the GTP would walk away further down the line I think.

Overall it'* a nice motor, good smooth power delivery and fairly quiet overall. Decent gas mileage too (I think it was something like 25/29 or something).

Nope I like my generation better get em a sliver or red Impala SS (from 2005) although love the engine I love the old styling better. It looks to Camryish... Great interior glad theres a V8 as long as they sell and someone buys them it just won't be me. Get me a Lucerne CXL/CXS with a Northstar. Car and Driver gave it a good review actually *as good as they get for a GM car at least).

the past 2 impala ss'* have really disgusted me. how can you take a car with such a rich history of performance and make it fwd and put a v-6 in it? (no offense ) thats like making a v6, fwd corvette, or a 4cyl bonnie.

I was actually looking to buy an '04 Impala when I found my Bonnie. It would have been "ok"...but I'm very much into the newer gen bonnies. I saw an '06 Charger today. A saleman at work had it as a rental. It had to be the base model....outside was cool looking...but inside was BLECH! Uuuugly!

almost went with a 05 impala instead of my bonne. the thing that told me otherwise was, wood grain wasnt an option. it was a requisite.

I love the new G6 GTP coupe, i might buy one if they deside to supercharger it with the 3900

and yes i like the nes Impala loos really sharp from directly from the front, but loses something when viewed on an angle. :?

and for some reason im just not feeling the Lucrene, something about it turns me off :?

I dont' like the new Impalas. They styling isn't there for my liking. I do like the 2000-2005 models a lot more. Especially the 04 SS Impala with the L67.

Back to the Lucerne for a second

That just looks so proper, the proportions are right, the drivetrain is right...I love it!
