Great, thank you for the info, puts my mind at ease. Thanks for all of you help!!!! I was worried it was low. Thanks again!
Actually they would replace the pistons, not the engine. I was becoming a fairly routine operation at the dealer I bought mine from ( my buddy is in the service department).
That oil pressure sounds to be around what I get on my 2003 Malibu. Now I have a cheap electronic gauge and want to get a better one. I think my sending unit ( that came with the cheap gauge) is not that accurate since I do get a jumpy oil pressure. What do you expect for a 10$ electronic gauge, lol.

As Shawn stated this is not a 3800 engine...
3100 is a Chevrolet engine...
I merely stated what the service manual was looking for...
Most chevrolets I have seen all seem happy from 20-60 Psi...
Usually after a good rebuild we see 40-60 Psi on the 305'*, 350'* and 400'*... Thats not a high volume oil pump either... With hot idle they do drop to 30 Psi... On just about every chevy I have seen the oil pressure is a huge problem wne the engine is hot and the pressure tanks as the engine warms up...
If that 3100 is getting 25 Psi at idle and 40-50 above idle( Hot ) I don't think i'd be worried about it.. I have seen 3.1'* with almost 300K with oil pressure like that and they still ran silent...
