Default Anyone know of a EOE that will hire...

Deaf people. I'm trying to find a part time job but the stores that I applied to are "Equal Opporunity Employeer" BULLSHIT. I applied to Skyline'* and to American Eagle. Skyline turned me down I found out from my good friend that work there that they didn't want to hire me because they didn't want to pay for an interpreter (which they are required by law for interview and training or meetings) The odd thing is that they needed help BADLY. Hope that place goes out of business.

American Eagle. I believe they look for "pretty" people to work. I thought I was one of the "pretty" ( ) people so I went and applied. The lady who wasn't the hiring manager said that her boss will give me a call in a few days. I defined few as 2 or 3 days. It'* been more than a week. I was honest on my application. Those stupid motherf... I gotta stop.

I'm not pissed about them not hiring me. I just want them to have the decency to call me and lie instead of me finding out the hard way.

So any one know of a corporation that will hire deaf people?

Thats a tough one but I'm sure you'll find something if you stick with it. Not easy finding your first job even if your not deaf.
Is there not some State agency that can help you out, like find info on what companies are deaf willing?
Way up in the bush where I am there is a town that has a value added sawmill that has about 70% hearing impaired employee'*. Union mill too $$.

Not planning working at WalMart, first I thought about it then I saw the big news about WalMart denying its workers breaks and hiring illegal immigrantsk then I thought, oh forget it. I tried Target, they aren't offering the job I wanted. I'm going to try Target when they get better jobs.

btw, I have to prove that the employeer refused to hire me due to my "disability" which I really don't look at that way before I can teach them a lesson.

I tried searching for some job resources for you in the Ohio area and came up empty handed (Arrrgg!!) But why not try and go to A temp agency and see if they can get you any work? They usually come across a wide range of job openings on a temporary or sometimes temp to perm positions.

I used to temp and it gave me allot of different exp. with different job skills. Hope it helps.

Yeah it helps a lot, I'll take that in consideration AFTER NEBF.
