Default Anyone have a HDTV?

Specifically a 32" or 37" LCD. I'm looking for opinions...the good, the bad and the ugly.

My Brother got a 42" LCD awhile ago. I'm not a TV guru so I don't know what looks good, but one HDTV channels it looks GREAT. Costco had them on sale, we basiclly stole it for $1,299.99

I've been told by a buddy of mine in that field that the Sony Aquios units are the best, if that helps.

my understanding is you will need the HD cable converter in order
for HDTV ready tv sets to really be clear.

not sure how far into that field your buddy is, but sony is no where close to making some of the better let alone best HD LCD'* on the market.

I personally like pioneers.

I looked at Vizios today, and for their price, they're really nice. They also have a really good deal on Sony 42" on Crutchfield.com, I think they're like 1300.

I'm thinking of a Dell 37". I can get it for around $1100 "cosmetic damaged refurb" (means there might be scratches on the case only.
