Just downloaded ubuntu and gave it a whirl... honestly didn't see that it had much more to offer than other distros like fedora core. It had problem detecting my wireless and on using the graphical utility it claimed that my wireless card was "active" when indeed it wasn't. No prompt for a list of ssid'*, no prompt for wep keys, just like Fedora! you gotta go and use ifconfig, ifup, etc to really get things to work.

To me the GUI on every linux distro I have seen lately is pretty much the same. I'm not a big fan of it.. then again, the vista GUI is similar to the linux distros, so go figure!

In summary: just more of the same.

You seriously need to try SuSE.
It makes the setup process very simple for beginners
