So my mom got her economic stimulus check and she should have gotten $900, 600 for her and 300 because i'm her dependent. She got the check today and she only got $600. and she was going to give me the 300.
And i didn't get 300 or 600 in my account...

So now i get no money, i'm pretty pissed.

And we're not the only ones, one guy at my work is the same way he claims his kid he only got 600. Another guy is married and together they only got $750.

I don't know the exact criteria, but somewhere there are guidlines to how much you get. The amounts they published were the maximums. I'm sure you can find something on the fed gov website somewhere.

i used the IRS calculator the other day and it told me she would be getting $900. I just did it again to see if i did something wrong, and it came up with $900 again.

Just read through that site you listed... to receive the extra $300 for a dependent you have to be 17 or under
So i just get shafted because i'm 20 and a dependent.

how can anyone possibly think that not getting $900, no strings attached, would be geting "jipped"?

last i checked, $600 > $0. count your blessings your moms getting anything.


anyway, no one ever guaranteed that amount. its the MAXIMUM. dont blame "Uncle Bush" for your misinterpretation. More to the point, how dare you complain about Uncle Bush because "the government" didnt give you as much free money as you expected.

Yea i filed, I checked my bank account and it hasn't changed. I'm thinking thats because my mom claimed me as a dependent.

you probably know this but I'll mention it anyways.

it will only go to your bank if you used direct deposit this year.

if not it will take longer.
