Default Anyone else feel like this?

So I've been thinking about my motivations of having a car and I sorta realized that it is an outlet of personal space. I get excited about driving (except for the gas prices of today), because I get to move and I get my own space to play my own music and adjust my own comfort and further customizing it if I wanted to. As much as I bash ricers and donkers, maybe its the same thing for them. Do you guys feel the same? Is it a hobby to want to figure out how to fix or mode cars, or is it an extension of our personal space? Is it something thats only unique to Americans because we can theoretically spend hours on end on the road? Is it dying out because of the appliance-ification of cars where cars are becoming more and more proprietary in many aspects?

i guess its different for everybody i just enjoy most everything about cars, driving, modding, even fixing them can be enjoyable if youve got the right tools.

as far as modding i guess theres always room for improvement. theres no reason to have a firebird like mine other than it putts a smile on my face anytime i do anything with it. even just taking off the cover and dusting it off.

There are two kinds of drivers on the road. One has a car, they get in, turn the key, and go where they need to go. The other has a CAR, it'* part of them. When they turn the key, more then just the car roars to life. My car turns me on, just as much as I turn it on.
