Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

Anyone else do this?

Default Anyone else do this?

I got sick and tired of having all my car documents unorganized so I decided to make up a portfolio. I've got a 3 ring binder with a dozen or so sections like tuning, transmission, resonance tuning, bodywork, interior, etc.
Am I obsesed or is this just practical at this point?

But seriously folks.......

I'm sure you're just being practical. And any time you need to look up random info, you'll know where to find it.

Nah, you're being organized! (I'm an organization freak-when I have the time). All my documents are compiled in a similar fashion.

I have folders for my vehicles, as well as a computer database setup. This also helps remind me when it'* time for scheduled maintenance. I think you're well organized. (I won't mention that my daughter says I'm a bit anal. aka OCD )

Nah, you're not obsessed. I keep a portfolio for each car too. In it is every receipt I've ever had for a repair, title paperwork, etc.

Then on the garage wall, on a piece of paper, is my maintenance log. When I fill up a page it gets dumped into the folder for that car.

Let me tell you....when you go to sell a car, having that maintenance log with all the receipts is an EXCELLENT selling feature. Not that you'll get more money for the car, but your car will likely sell faster because of it. ...been my experience anyway.

Those who insist on organization will never know the joy of finding something thought to be irretrievably lost.....
