Was the A586 the 5spd that came with the 3.0V6? If so, then yeah, it'* the one you want.
The one in my Shadow 3.0L has 251,XXX miles on the original clutch, and it would still spin em through second. That qualifies as tough...

hmm....i know my friend has one.....custom in a 88 LaBaron...and I know it burns oil like hell...and has horrible compression....not to mention the turbo leaks oil as well.

Most LeBarons at that time had the 2.2 Turbo 1....if they didn't take care of the car, it will be a piece of carp. The compression on the turbo cars are lower than the n/a models to start with. Leaky turbo seals are a very common thing to repair on these cars.

The A568 was called something else when it was behind the 3.0 V6. The bellhousing pattern between the two engines are completely different, so there is no cross-compatibility. A568s can be found behind the 2.5 Turbos and I think 2.2 Turbo 3 and Turbo 4 (yes, there are 4 different 2.2 turbo setups, T1 being the most common, T3 being the rarest).
