Default anybody know Microwave repair?

I bought my mom a Sharp microwave last year for Christmas for over $200 and it'* having a slight problem. When it'* heating food it has started to emit a very LOUD noise that sounds similar to a car going WOT. I mean, you can hear it outside the house it is so loud. It'* coming from the right side, and it'* a silver looking box with big wires giong into it. (the biggest of all wires in the entire microwave.) I know, I should get pictures or something.. It'* just odd that it'* only loud when it'* heating.. when it'* in the cooling cycle (like if the power is set to 50%) it goes completely silent when it stops heating. .. then you can only hear the fan. any ideas? I hear that it'* always cheaper to just replace something like this than repair it. It works ok, it'* just deafeningly(if that'* even a word..lol) loud!

That thing should probably be replaced. If it'* the biggest wires in the whole thing, I would bet that it'* the actually microwave generator. Probbaly just loose and rattling when at full power, but I wouldn't go playin' in there. You don't want them microwaves getting outta there and running around your house, especially not if you ever want to hear the pitter-pat of little feet in the future...

Just my guess...

It sounds like the capacitor is going bad. Be careful and discharge the cap before doing any work on it.

If you have to ask, you don't know.

If you don't know, you shouldn't.

So don't. This kinda goes along with Monitors/TV repair. The bigger they are, the bigger the CAP. TV'* and Monitors can severely hurt you, or even kill you, Nowadays it'* just cheaper to replace.

Microwaves (energy, not what you bought) are bad for you too. They cook food by boiling water. The Human body is more then 60% water. That means something.

yep thats sooo true.... unless u know alot about electronics dont try to fix it, cause it wont happen... i got a brother that takes everything electronic apart after it breaks cause he thinks he is going to figure out how it works... so far he hasnt figured out how anything works or fixed anything.
