Default Any Drag Racing Games for the wii

So my wife wants a wii for mothers day. Since they are sold out in the area for now, I have some time to decide if this is a good investment or not. Meaning IS IT SOMETHING I WILL ALSO ENJOY? So, my question is this. Are there any good, realistic Drag Racing games for the wii out there? I have heard that the NEED FOR SPEED games are not that great. I am not really into video games. My dad brought home Pong when I was a child, and I enjoyed Space Invaders and Asteroids in the 80'*. Yes, I'm 41. But other than that, I have no knowledge in the gameing world. Thanks.

No. You need a PS3 or 360 for that. The Wii is designed as a sorta family/party style system. The graphics and processing power are definitely not up to the challenge, either.

O.K. then, does the PS3 have the same level of quality in interactive capabilities as the wii. My wife claims she wants the wii for the exercise

Yeah, you won't get any exercise with the PS3 controllers. Unless you count your finger muscles

Wii has a game called Wii fitness, and no other console has anything similar to that. The Wii is less mature, but definitely fun. I enjoy a lot of the games, but its nothing simulator-like. Wii sports is fun, just look at the games on a review site and see what you think. It'* definitely a fun experience, though (just don't expect jaw dropping graphics or realism). The interaction is something no one can compare to, though. Prepare for Wii-elbow!

Once she realizes she can achieve the same gaming sitting on the couch moving her arm it may just become a dust collector.

I enjoy the Wii a lot, I don't think this will be the case. My mom bought one and plays it quite often (though it'* partially for physical therapy).

mario kart for the wii is pretty good. not even remotely drag, though.

go with the wii for exercise. ps3 and xbox360 have nothing on the level of interaction for the wii. anytime my friends are over and were looking for a fun console game to play thats not halo, we break out the wii.

I played GTA IV on 360 yesterday and was bored out of my tree after 20 mins. Despite the realism and the randomness of it all, I'm glad I have a Wii system at home. You bust out the Wii and you're guaranteed to have a lot of fun. You shoulda seen PeterG and Smellbird when they were over here playing Mario party...lol

Your wife will definitely enjoy the Wii, no doubt. I don't see you getting enjoyment out of it though. I've only played bowling and baseball for it and the fad wore off in about a week or two. The nunchuck controller can be pretty inaccurate at times, too. The cartoonish characters just don't do me justice. I know that you say that you are not into video games BUT playing a driving game on the Playstation 3 or XBox360 just might change your mind. The graphics and the overall realism offered my either of these two systems is far superior to that of the Wii.

40gigabite PS3: $399.99
XBox360: $279.99-$449.99
Nintendo Wii: $249.99-$389.95
