Default Help PLease with Chevy Beretta problem..1 coil not firing!

I have a 1989 chevy beretta with a 2.8 engine

Coil 1 and 4 are not firing

tested the coils and they are good

spark plus and wires are good also

what could cause that coil to not fire..I have replaced it with a new one and I have the same result.

if it were the ignition module..would any of the coils fire ( ignition module can't be tested at autozone because of the type)

Try swapping the non-firing coils with firing coils. If the problem follows the coils.. then ther is your answer. If the problem stays with the 1 & 4 coil spots, then it could either be the ignition control module or possibly a wire and plug issue. I am assuming that 1 & 4 are on the same coil pack together? Also check to make sure all the connections from the control module to the pack are securely connected and free of debris.

Sounds like to me your problem is your ignition control module.
