Congrats!! I can only hope I'm at my current job for 3 years! Things aren't looking the greatest, but they could be much much worse.

I'm like Bandit, help desk mixed with running a mainframe computer, tape drives, and printers



They talked to me about it last year we have two supervisors that have enough years in to retire anytime they want. The job will be mine if I want it even though others here have more seniority. 'IF?" you ask. Well if only 1 retires then it will be a 3rd shift position. Alot will depend on what pay will be offered. If 'supervisor' doesn't pay much more - it won't be worth the headaches that come with working 3rd shift (overnight). They don't make any concessions for your hours, there will required weekly meetings and annual classes that occur only during the day and siince you are salaried you don't get any extra pay, equivalent time off, or even OT ... EVER. I'd be on call 24/7/365 and HAVE to come in if anyone else on 3rd called in. You can see why its going to depend on the offer...LOL
Now if both retire then I have a good shot at staying right where I'm at with a brand new title and pay.

congrats on the 3 year, my 4 year will be on may 6th... one more year and I get another week of vacation then I will be up to three weeks a year
