Buying a car in Canada, need advice on importing
Ok, well this might not be as simple as I thought. I'm getting a new car (highly classified ), and I've gotten a hint that transferring the car from Canada is no walk in the park. So, any experiences? hmm???? Also, is there someone in the Toronto area willing to check it out for me?

It IS a walk in the park. I got mine across the border and didn't even have to show them PROOF I bought it (no bill of sale, title, etc.)
I did have all that info, but they never asked for it. I did a ton of research on it, and had all these forms I thought I needed, but it turns out all the sources I had must have been out-of-date. They just need a letter from the manufacturer that says it complies with US emissions. That'* ALL you need. I didn't have one of those either, I just said the label under the hood said it complied.
EDIT: Are you picking it up in person and driving it back? That'* what I did. I did not get a shipper. I don't know much about that part.

No matter what, they'll want a letter I think. But if you could prove it was a Florida car maybe you don't. :?:
I was at the border and they told me I needed a letter. They let me go anyway. I thought, what could they really do? Tell me I can't go home? I told them I took a 14-hour bus ride to get it.
If you don't have the know-how to get a letter I'd call customs and explain it was a FL car. See what they say?
