There are WAY too many idiots living in America who have absolutely no respect for our troops, our president, our nation as a whole, and do not deserve to be here or to call themselves Americans. All they do is bitch and whine and contribute absolutely nothing to the wellbeing of our nation. Would you want to say you fight for people who protest the war at the graves of your fallen comrades?

Aint that the truth. Somewhere during the end of World War II, Americans forgot what war is, what war does, that war creates collateral damage. War is not a Civil engagement so many technocrats would have us believe. Americans lost their will to accept these conditions and haven't won a war in over 60 years. Korea/Vietnam/Central America/South America/Africa on several fronts/Iran/Baltic States/Afghanistan/ Iraq~Kuwait..... Not one success in any of them.

The world see'* us a as weak nation with all the powers and weapons needed and not the courage to use them. And when we do flex that a bit, feel sorry for what we've done, re-mediate and repeat our mistakes over and over again. Now in Egypt, Tunisia, and more and more country'*; insurgents/dissidents are rising up without due process or Leaders who really want "democratic" reform. And it seems each time we say,...... ahhhhh. Lets help these poor oppressed people get some democracy.

My take on Egypt is the exact same scenario we had with Iran. The Shah was an autocrat also. Very friendly to the US. His government was toppled with us looking the other way in the name of "democracy". Jimmy Carter was an ill advised NOOB about global politics and his decisions cost us 30 years of continuing regret and a huge still growing global nuclear threat.

Did the Iranians see Peace? Democracy? Human Rights?

Obama hasn't a clue and in an interview I watched, admitted the Egytian Brotherhood had "elements" of anti-US in it but still wants them in the transition process. He ought to STFU and stay out of it. What I see there is the exact same scenario.

While we sit at our computers, watch sitcoms/sports on TV, while the wives and children romp in the Malls..... the world is coming unglued, and our Leaders live and lead with the same mindsets and mistakes the press, media, and civil treehuggers continue to ram down our throats.

The world is no longer 10-12 countries that live a middle class life and 100+ living in huts w/dirt floors. They are no longer, "Not a threat, not our problem". As they come into the modern world and see/want the finer things enjoyed by us, the people that rise up get leaders that tell them they can get it for them. And most haven't that in mind at all. They merely see an avenue to power.

Obama is all about CHANGE. Irresponsible blind change, purely ideological, without foresight, experience, or common sense. I sincerely hope we can endure another 2 years with minimal damage and the movement that cleaned enough Democrats out of the House, cleans up the Senate and White House as well. And that some brave hawkish Senators/President regain control of the Military.

Howz that for thoughts?

GXP V,

Would like to supplement your outstanding commentary and mention all the wars since WWII except the Gulf war (to an extent) have been limited wars and not total wars. Total wars are what we should fight, if it is worth going to war for it must be total war. Limited war empowers the enemy, total war eliminates the enemy.

I understand and agree with your amend to my position Guns. I just didn't separate the word War fully. Was quite a long thought to begin with. LOL "Police action/Limited War" is indeed what we have fought since the end of World WarII and you would think that in 60+ years we would admit that it doesn't work. It is far easier for a President to declare and the public to accept, "a Police Action". Even after 60 years of failures. I don't even see Irag as a total war. We entered it brutally yet quickly de-escalated it. I feel Bush/Cheney figured it was a "variant" of a Police Action that would work. It hasn't. Ceasefire should not have come, and a new civil government put in place until the Regime, And the other negative factions were neutralized. We did it in Germany. we did it in Japan. You must defeat the Army/Government and bring the civil population under control. That takes procedures/actions of stabilizing all. Something the Press and in turn, the public/Us Gov have no stomach for. Rioters and protesters have to be treated in the same fashion as the enemy. Martial law until a real peace is secured.

You are very right IMO. Either there is reason for total war, or we have no business in it.

And people still wonder why I'm getting out of the Air Force.

I can do more good the country of America (and myself) as a civilian who is allowed to live in the boonies with too many guns.

**VERY HARSH LANGUAGE**
