Default Amazons Cloud Server Outage

Most of you prolly heard/read about one of Amazons Cloud servers going down. It has created a domino effect across large parts of the internet, and even though there are reports of it'* "all better" (it isn't) we are having a few annoyances we have to ignore for the moment. Mainly slower page loads, alot of the smileys randomly not working, and occasionally uploaded attachments not "taking". Let me know if you notice anything else out of the ordinary.

Most web pages (including ours) are a composite of many different servers and some sites are experiencing total page faults due to timeouts waiting for replies from either Amazons servers or ones affected. Rick'* been very busy trying to stay ontop of it and been burning midnight oil over it.

Just wanted to keep everybody in the loop as to whats and whys of the minor problems. Hopefully this will all subside soon. The incident really shows just how fragile the internet can be.

Not funny Jon. We are having troubles with other forums and getting a run around with our host. Lets keep this thread clean please. Notice an issue, speak, otherwise.........

Yeah some quirks here and there. Looks like sys admins is doing something. Page loads are back to instant for me, smilies back, and email notifications back to normal. It'* funny how one datacenter can create such a havoc.

Say, didn't all this start on the day Skynet became self-aware in Terminator?

But in all seriousness, though, I never noticed any issues with GM Forum, and elsewhere, I'm noticing the sites that were down are coming back up. I think the worst is over, or at least being actively cleaned up.
