I've never used ghost (our company does, but who cares). I'm going to try Acronis Migrate Easy.

My plan is to pick up a 250 or 300 GB HDD on the way home tonight (Yay Microcenter!). Put it in place of my CD and/or DVD drive and copy my "backup drive" (160 GB 7200 RPM) over to it. Then I will format what is now my backup drive, and then migrate my system drive (80 GB 5400 RPM) onto it tomorrow. Much more room, and faster drives.

Worse comes to worst, I only have CD burning and labeling software installed ight now. Won't take me long to do a full reinstall if neccessary.

Well, if you wanted to just not change anything, and upgrade the drives, I could probably hook you up. But since you said your playing with the RAID setup and all,

Have fun!!!

Ok.. let me tell you how I go at redoin the pc.

first off.. C should be programs only for the most part.
One of your other drives should have a copy of all the drivers/downloaded programs etc that you have in the uninstalled version aka compressed.

Wipe C clean and run..all the stuff is already sitting right there in front of you and there'* no hunting around for that one driver or program.

one problem, if you have raid 0 that doesn;t matter if your redoing the raid :(

but yeah thats what i do anyway, i have C: be like 30-40GB just for software and games. and other drive letters for all my other stuff
