I've been looking attentively for an SSEi. It doesn't seem like there'* THAT many around this area. BUT, there are a lot of Grand Prix GTPs. Personally, I think they're a bit sexier than the bonneville being that some (if not all?) are coupes.
Anyone have any experience with the GTPs? It would fulfill my l67 dream and they seem very moddable. I've also heard that GTPs run somewhat quicker than SSEis stock off the production line. It'd probably looking around like 98 - 02. Given my financial situation, it would only be if the bonne were to die on my and needed replacing, I want to have an educated decision made on my next vehicle. That'* something I've never done before, and don't regret it on the bonne, but the Grand Marquis I do regret SLIGHTLY (can't beat the sound of a crown vic as long as it isn't chasing you
).
So... do you like/dislike GTPs? Why?

I like the GTP'*. They are a bit quicker do to weight distribution and being a little lighter overall.
They use the same basic engine and trans with only some minor changes, so you would be all set there.
Personally, I think the Bonneville'* are a little more plush and comfortable then the GTP'* and also much nicer finished with more creature comforts. That said, the GTP is alot more sporty.

I went from almost your exact car (1997 Green SLE, loaded, same rims etc) to a 2001 GTP Special Edition. Mine has had some problems here and there but nothing you wouldn't encounter with an SSEi. Interior is a bit cheaper feeling, but it'* not so bad that it would deter me from getting one. Very moddable, and fun to drive. More options for suspension and engines work. But you decide, what is sexier:
or

(That'* without clear corners, chrome grilles, and black headlight covers too)

That GTP would be niceee looking with the mods you mentioned. I'll have to get ins. quote from insurance place before I were to make a move. I pay $120/mo as it is with perfect record, average credit (good for only being 19) and driving a bonneville... so I can't handle much more.

the GTPs are nice looking cars, however I would take an SSEI over one any day of the week. their interiors feel entirely too cheap, the leather (and I use that word lightly) seats are downright uncomfortable.
