Why can you buy a 5 qt. jug of oil at Wal-Mart, but not at the parts store? A 5 gt. jug of Vavoline conventional 5W-30 is $9.98, and at Shucks, it’* $11-12 for 4 qts.

I am not arguing with the price, but it seems that is should be the opposite.

Can someone explain this?

Walmart kicks But

I think that reason why a lot go auto parts stores do now is that a lot of the "Ricers" or 4 bangers use only 4qrts

lets just hope walmart never switches to it.

I was wondering the same thing, but the parts store I normally use isn't part of a Chain, and they carry the 5Q jugs, but the last time I went to advance, they didn't have the 5Q jugs

I work at a parts store on weekends and I never understood this either. It doesn't make much sense.

I thought I was crazy. I noticed that too but I never heard anyone else say anything about it.
I think WalMarts get certain things that are exclusive to WalMart.
But, why they even make 4 qts in the first place doesn't make any sense.
If I only needed 4, I'd rather have the extra anyway.
