If at all possible you want to use digital as much as possible. That is why the phone is trying to find a digital signal. In digital you get more stand by and talk minutes for your battery life plus more call security...

I bet your old nokia was either TDMA/CDMA, and those use different towers then the new GSM phones.

Nokia? A dime a dozen, after having my 3360, and going to my samsung e-105... Never again!

Your new LG is THIN. My new phone is just a hair thicker when closed, but not as tall. infact mine'* TINY. The phone is the same size as my index finger (minus antenna).
