I heard there's only a handful of airports in the world that can handle an A380 as far as weight goes.

Montreal has had all of its runways rebuilt, including 24 right at 13,600' in length. Also, one of the gates has been modified with dual level bridges to disembark passengers from both levels simultaneously.

We've seen all sorts of aircraft in Montreal, I'm sure you know it's the 'home' of Bombardier, with Pratt & Whitney, Bell Helicopter Texron, CAE and Heroux all nearby. Here's a picture of the once a week visitor to the airport;

The Antonov carries fuselages for one of the Bombardier Regional Jets from the Short Brothers factory in Ireland.

We've also had B-52 Bombers here often, they need a wide runway with the landing gear on the ends of the wings, not to mention they take a few feet before they rotate for take off.

Orlando International (MCO) used to be a B-52 base back in the day, which is how OIA is capable of handling the A380 and the 747 on a daily basis (Though we only have one carrier, Virgin Atlantic, that flies the '47 in daily).

Sanford International, a sister of MCO, used to be a NAS up until the mid 70's. Central Florida had alot going on military-wise during the Cold War era.
