Well going down the list, I finally decided to send the 95 Bonne to the shop to read the engine codes (I didn't have a scanner)and got the repair done so that the engine light is finally off. But now I find out I have a gas leak......well ok then..... in order to save about $100.00 I'd have to pick the tank up in the US this Saturday. I find out they can't get it by then. So I'm SOL............................................... ........So I'm gonna have to park the car again. My budget is gone.

You don't have to pay duty on the item. What you would have to pay if you delcare it is:
1. Brokerage fees............................zero if you bring it accross yourself, since you are the broker.
2. Taxes which are 14% of the Canadian amount of the total invoice price.

Thats a real hard one to confirm unless you actually see a leak in the tank. My Lasabre had one and it turned out to be one of the lines coming out of the sending unit on top and dripped down the side of the tank. And a what I thought was a $100 dollar repair for new tank turned into a $330 dollar repair for the sending unit/tree and tank. Hope yours is intact. they are expensive.

All I know is that the car has been parked in the driveway and I've been doing repairs to it for the last 7 months. I now started driving it around the block about a month ago and started smelling gas for about a week. The tank is 7/8 full and always has been for all this time.
