I do believe that premium is the "recommended" grade for the TL, but will work fine on any grade.

The SCed bonnes only "need" 91 octane as well, but they are happier on 93+... (I can only get 91 octane at the pump in Arizona...except for the 100 octane from the pump at the gas station near Firebird Raceway )

and...we love ya, too Scott

Bob...I think Scott was focusing on the part where you planned on spanking that TL at the track.

Yep, the TL was known for having no options, it always comes fully loaded. I'd personally take mine without the sat-nav.

HID may not have been around for 1999...

actually..i have read that HID was in the 99'*. can you verify this bill? thanks a bunch for confirming the nav and HID...but was that for the 2000? if i want to save a buck or two, i could settle with a 99...but I WANT HID!!! of course..the conversion must be easy...oem fit from a 2000 right? i looked at a TL today. they are very smooth-looking cars. nothing in-your-face, but sleek. interior is actually much more roomy than i thought...but the head-room is a bit on the conservative side. not a problem for me...i'm only about 6' 1" shouldn't be an issue. interior is quite bland...nice, but bland. if the price is similar, and it comes down to between a 2000 ssei or the TL, the bonnie might win. we'll see. bill, please see if you can confirm the HID on the 99. if you have time...don't break your leather-wrapped steering wheel over it :P
