Default Abs (not talking brakes here)

So what is the best way to build abs? I've tried situps and crunches but never got any good results with then; most likely from not doing them right. What are my other options for working on abs?

I do know if I want to see a "6 pack", I will need to tone down the "flab", but right now I'm just looking at working out the muscles. Any input is welcome.

Restrict your diet to 1500 calories a day or less... Then put your legs in the air and do 150 crunches a day, three sets of 50.

If you are doing situps or crunches (I don't recommend situps, by the way) and can feel some muscle soreness, then you are indeed working those muscles correctly. Strong abs will also "tuck in" a flabby gut somewhat.

Crunches are PROVEN to add much more over all muscle tone than sit ups alone!

If you have a pool avaliable to you, try lap swimming... this is by far my favorite work out.
