ahhh the notorious faulty 60 degree v6 intake gasket strikes again. This plaques almost all 3400'* and some 3100'* mainly 99 and up. However taken care of, the 3100 can be a high mileage motor easily.
I have seen many problems with the first 3100, 94-99 Vin M, and I have seen 99-?? Vin J 3100'* at the dealership for that exact problem... My friend has done 3 or 4 of the 3400'* in the last year for bad gaskets... They seem to happen along in groups...

But I agree, if take care of they are some hell bent engines
