I had several K-based cars...LeBarons mostly...one of them being a 2.5 Turbo w/ the 5-speed.
I didn't know they considered them "K" cars... I was thinking about the old 4-banger, 4-door, Dodge Aries/Chrysler K'*... I wish I had a picture of the one Kim used to drive (base model, canary yellow, just plain ugly...needed the "US Gov Motorpool" stickers in the back glass to make the image complete. And to think, that was the step "up" from the Omni/Horizon models.

EVERYTHING, with exception of the L-body OmniRizons and Chargerismos (oh, and the Scampages too) that was front-drive up until the Cloud cars and the Neons were K-based in some form or fashion...even the minivans. This is what enabled the late Gus Mahan to build a 13-second minivan...taking parts from Shelby Daytonas, Super-60 pieces, and even using full-sized truck master cylinder for "upgrades".

But...I'll admit...the actual K-bodies were junk.

Hey! That was my first Tuner in 87'. This Omni ran in the 12'* with some help from "Direct Connection" now named "Mopar Performance".

That was before Fast & Furious cars were cool! When you pull up to an IROC Z28 with an Omni you get laughed at! When you pass him by 3 cars you get 50 questions when you stop.

A new power module, Turbo II head, custom exhaust, bigger throttle body and goodies to go with it, and removing the waste gate stop plug and replacing it with a pipe plug( this allowed for full turbo boost while the original plug was longer and stopped the valve from opening completely), made for one crazy car to drive!

The Grand Am was definitely UGLY!!!!!

The one positive is that at least everything was cleanly done. The paint looked like somebody took the time to do correctly, and the fart cannon wasn't burning the body kit. Unlike some of the rice burners around where I live...

...it might as well be a Chrysler K-Car.
Umm, you do know that there are daily driven K-cars out there that can waste any streetable 3800 on any of the boards?

On the green menu on the left, go to The Reliant...

Same car. TurboII 2.5L. Daily driven car...
The same motor is pulling Spirits to 9s, Shadows into the mid-8s. And the 10 second cars get driven to the track...if a K-car revs at you on the street, think twice...

Anyway, around here the GA is very popular with the ricers.
