Default 20 ways you waste money on your car

Cars make us irrational. We call them our babies and lovingly wax them every Saturday -- or we turn up the radio to drown out the sound of a dragging muffler. Either mindset will cost you money, sometimes a lot of it.

Walking the line between obsession and neglect means you never spend a nickel without a good reason -- and good reasons can include spending money on something that’* not broken.
Here, then, are 20 ways you waste money on your car.

I'd spend less on car washes and do more myself if A It was ever above zero here and B It wouldn't get all slushed up the instant it hit the street again when it does go anywhere above freezing. I wish I could stick to my summer home wash schedule all winter long. My black car looks white right now its so dirty....

I spend about $200 annually on car washes each year.

I change my oil every 3000 miles.

I change my plugs and wires once a year.

I replace parts that dont need to be replaced so I dont break down on the road somewhere.

guess what?

I've never once been stranded before in any of the cars I've owned.

Shoot Me.
