Default 1968 Oldsmobile 88 for $2200

I was recently looking a 1968 oldsmobile 88 with the 455 rocket newer leather interior and 148000 miles is this a good deal?

Im not familiar with these cars and it seems the nicer ones are very expensive

It costs a lot of money to appraise a car, and I nor anyone else could tell ya how much it is without at least posting pics... I wish I had some kind of KBB for you to go to, but I don't. Maybe some of the guys with classics can butt in...

IMO any car with a big block for $2200 is a steal as long as it runs and isn't a rust bucket. Even then, rust can be fixed if it'* what you want to do.

I absolutely agree! My dad had a 1976 Oldsmobile 98 with a 455 rocket, and it was white soft top coupe with white leather and a wood dash trim. Absolutely beautiful car. He bought it for $400 in 93, but it'* long gone now. If you can really get a 1968 88 in good condition for ~$2000, it'* definitely worth a shot!

I agree. '60'* 88'* are very uncommon to see on the road. If it'* in at least decent shape and running it'* worth it. If it'* rust free, it'* a steal.

The 455 is one of the best running carbed engines ever! (imo)
I'd hit it!

Yes, but TH350 & 400'* can be rebuilt fairly cheaply.

Do you know what a good rebuilt 68 455 rocket fetches?

Yes, but considering it is 40 years old, it'* not bad. You will need to get hooked up with some of the classic Olds guys just to find all of the parts sources you will need.

If the motor runs, body is sound, and you have the time, then go for it.
